Why does the sentry bring Antigone to Creon despite knowing she will be executed? Is the death penalty a fitting punishment for Antigone's crime? Explain. How does she defend herself?

The sentry brings Antigone to Creon anyway because he wants to be excused from any for of punishment. He could get in trouble for not knowing what happened to the body and many other things and he wants to be off the hook. I don't think the death penalty is a fitting punishment because everyone makes mistakes and death isn't a fitting punishment for any crime in my eyes. I believe she should be punished because she did go against what Creon said, but maybe she should be put in jail or something like that. Creon does not understand that she is just doing what she thinks is right and defending her brother. Most people would do anything for family and that is what she is doing. Antigone doesn't deny anything! She admits to what she has done because she doesn't care who knows. She believes that what she did was the right thing and is ready for any punishment Creon might come up with, even if it is death.
